  • Horatio Alger Alaska Scholarship

    Amount: $10,000 (five awarded annually)

    State scholarships are awarded to eligible students in all fifty states and the District of Columbia.  The program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives.  The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders.  **Scholarship questions are personal and may be triggering for some people.

  • US Senate Youth Program
    Expires On: Wednesday, November 08, 2017 3:00 PM

    Type: Enrichment/Scholarship

    Who:  Juniors and seniors who old an elected position in student government

    Amount:  $10,000

    This program is sponsored by the Federal Senate and underwritten by the Hearst Foundation.  It is open to juniors and seniors who old elected positions in student government for the entire academic year.  Students must be enrolled  in a public or private school.  State delegates will have outstanding leadership qualities and a strong commitment to public service.  They generally rant in the 1 percent of their states academically.  Each delegate receives a $10,000 undergraduate scholarship and an expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., in March where two Alaska students will join 104 other delegates for Washington Week.

    If selected  to represent the state, the nominee must be available to attend the entire Washington Week from march 3-10.

  • Alaska Association of Bilingual Education Scholarship
    Expires On: Monday, November 20, 2017 4:00 PM

    Type:  Scholarship

    Who:  Alaskan high school senior

    Amount:  Three $1,000 scholarships

    Alaska Association of Bilingual Education will award its final three scholarships of $1,000 each, to three Alaskan high school seniors in order to support their college education.
