Our guiding principles consider the ideal educational experience for all students to be one in which:
 

1. Each student can learn and be successful
2. Each individual is recognized as unique, valuable, and is treated with respect and dignity
3. Learning  is a lifelong process
4. School culture is collaborative
5. Early intervention is crucial to ensure overall development and achievement
6. The educational experience of our students depends on partnerships within our diverse communities
7. The educational environment is safe, orderly, and  engaging
8. High standards and expectations are essential elements for student success

10. Decisions are student-centered, data-driven, and made collaboratively
11. Differentiated opportunities to meet individual needs are provided
12. There is a commitment to collaboration and effective instruction

14. All students are inspired to learn through their school experiences
15. Our Pre K-12 education system is adaptable and responsive

 


2) Mission Statement – Our Purpose and Why We Exist 

Current: The mission of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, in partnership with the richly diverse communities, is to develop creative, productive learners who demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to meet life’s challenges, by providing stimulating, integrated learning opportunities in a safe, supportive environment.

Vision statement indicates where we are headed – the ideal future state. The Vision statement provides a picture of what we think the future of the District should look like.
