INDEPENDENT STUDY PROGRAM

The School Board believes that all students should have the opportunity to learn in a flexible instructional model that is fluid and developmentally appropriate for all.  Students should be provided instructional opportunities in partnership with parents and community that extend growth, exploration and learning beyond the classroom.

The Independent Study Program is intended to provide students the opportunity to take ownership of their own learning in partnership with teachers, administrators, parents and community partners in earning credits towards graduation requirements.

Who is Eligible?

Any full-time high school student who is enrolled in the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District and who meets the qualifying criteria of an approved Independent Study Program Plan is eligible.
