  • Alaska's Kenai Peninsula Chapter Safari Club International Scholarship

    Amount:  $4,000 ($1,000 per year for 4 years)

    Alaska's Kenai Peninsula Chapter of Safari Club International is a non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife conservation, education, humanitarian efforts, and protecting our hunting heritage.  To further these goals, we will award a $4,000 scholarship to a graduation senior from any accredited public or private high school within the Kenai Peninsula Borough.  To be eligible, the student must be accepted into a program of wildlife management or research curriculum in a related field at an accredited college or university and enroll for a minimum of 12 semester hours or full-time equivalent.  A trade school or vocational program in a related discipline will be considered, and future teachers are eligible.

    Amount:  $2,000

    The GCI Scholarship provides financial assistance and promotion of Alaska students pursuing a major, trade or vocational training relevant to science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). The applicants’ education and training endeavors should help to ensure an adequate, well-trained workforce in technology. This may include but not limited to coding, web design, gaming, IT, cyber security, product technology, medical technicians, health aides and installing and maintaining networks. Applicants who live in Rural Alaska and applicants who express an intention to return to Alaska to start their careers are strongly encouraged to apply. The 2021 GCI Scholarship is a $80,000 investment in Alaska’s next generation of leaders. This year GCI will provide 40 scholarships at the $2,000 level.

  • 2021 KPC High School Senior Tuition Scholarship

    Who: Kenai Central High School, Soldotna High School, Nikiski High School, Ninilchik High School, Seward High School, Kenai Alternative High School, River city Academy, Cook Inlet Academy, and Kenai Peninsula Borough residents participating in home-school programs.

    Kenai Peninsula College is offering several tuition scholarships to graduating seniors from the schools listed above. This scholarship may be used for attendance during the 2021/2022 academic year at Kenai Peninsula College's, Kenai River Campus (Soldotna) or at their Resurrection Bay Extension Site (Seward). Chosen recipients will be awarded up to 12 credits waived for the fall and spring semesters of the 2021/2022 school year; fees and books are not included, and must be paid for by the student.

    This scholarship fund is established in memory of Vera Howarth, a long-time resident of Soldotna, member of the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, and much-loved, devoted member of the community. Awards will be made to students with a positive-upbeat personality and demonstrated community involvement, including civic activities, volunteerism, a general willingness to participate and determination to overcome difficulties while retaining a positive attitude.

  • 2021 Dr. John Nels Anderson Scholarship

    Who:  Graduating High School Seniors

    Amount:  Recipients pursuing a four year post secondary education will receive a one-time $1,500.00 scholarship; OR recipients pursuing an education in a vocational/technical school will receive a one-time $1,000.00 scholarship.

    Dr. Anderson was a dedicated physician to the residents of the central peninsula for 36 years. He delivered over 5,000 babies in that time and was also the only physician in the state who offered services for in vitro fertilization. He believed strongly in education and public service and was on the KPB School Board for 16 years. He also served on the Soldotna City Council and twice as mayor of Soldotna including at the time of his death. He was a strong advocate of Scouting and served many years as a scout master and in various other district scouting positions. 5 of his children graduated from SoHi. He believed in all types of post secondary training and as a result two types of scholarships will be funded - one for those pursuing an 4 year degree that could lead to a profession in a medically related to field and one for trade or vocational or trade school in a medically related field.

    On behalf of the Soldotna Rotary Club and its satellite club in Ninilchik, they would like to announce the offering of up to six (6) $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors of Cook Inlet Academy, Ninilchik High School, River City Academy, Soldotna High School, and homeschool graduates.     Amount:  Two $2,000 scholarships

    The Alaska Peace Officers Association (APOA) is a statewide professional organization of federal, state, and local law enforcement, 911 dispatch professionals, corrections, and other justice system personnel in Alaska.  The two scholarships will be awarded to two high school senior applicants.  The one-time disbursement is made to the recipient's college financial aid office.

    The essay will consist of a 1-2 page typed document (double spaced in times roman type 12 font) describing:  intended course of study; desire/pursuit of career in law enforcement; any leadership roles, community activities and school accomplishments; other significant experiences that the student has been involved in; and summary as to why the student is deserving of the one-time $2,000 scholarship.  Letters of reference/recommendation should fully support and reinforce leadership, school accomplishments, and community service and/or outside activities.

    Who: 2021 Graduating Seniors in the Greater Kachemak area ONLY- including communities around Anchor Point, the head of the Kachemak Bay and across Kachemak Bay.

    Amount: $500

    The Homer Garden Club is a non-profit organization that was founded to educate and encourage gardeners and provide positive experiences for gardeners at all levels of learning. Homer Garden Club recognizes that growing plants for food and beauty can be important to both the gardener and the community. Access to knowledge of soils, plants, climate and basic environmental principles and practices are integral to successful gardening. The Homer Garden Club is offering a $500 scholarship, which may be used for post-secondary training that would assist the applicant in learning and sharing the knowledge that can enhance successful gardening activities.

  • Homer Kachemak Bay Rotary Club Scholarship - GREATER KACHEMAK AREA ONLY

    Who:  Graduating Seniors in the Greater Kachemak Bay Area ONLY

    Amount:  $1,000 minimum

    The Homer Kachemak Bay Rotary Club is sponsoring scholarships for the 2021-22 academic year for applicants attending any academic institution OR vocational program, who demonstrate the best combination of financial need, career goals and Rotary principles.  A vocational program is defined as a program leading to an industry certificate, or other certificate of completion which would enable the recipient to obtain entry level career employment.  This need not be in a traditional vocational area such as welding or other trade, but may include culinary arts, specialized business training, or medical training such as nursing or EMT training; it need not be a degree program.

    Geographically, this includes Ninilchik and all school south of Ninilchik, as well as the Russian schools and schools across the Bay.
