INSTRUCTIONS
A plan of career education concepts, activities and test evaluation procedures.
STEP 1 | The teacher will administer the pre test to the class in September. The purpose of this test is to determine the students’ understanding of basic Career Education concepts. |
STEP 2 | The pre test is scored and a summarization report of the class is completed by the teacher. Make two copies of the summarization report. (One copy to your principal and the second copy for your records.) |
STEP 3 | The teacher then begins to introduce the prepared concepts and activities to the class, placing particular emphasis on the items most frequently missed on the pre test. |
STEP 4 | The post test is administered in April. The purpose of this test is to determine if a change occurred from the previous testing. |
STEP 5 | The post test is scored and a summarization report of the class is completed by the teacher. Make two copies of the summarization report. (One copy to your principal and the second copy for your records. |

- A way to become eligible for a promotion is to do your best in your job.

Self
- I like to be with people and work with them; therefore, I could consider the service cluster of occupations.

Decision Making
- How I act doesn’t matter as long as my friends think it is okay.

Educational
- I may have to depend upon someone I don’t agree with when I’m working at a job.
- Getting along with your fellow worker contributes to work happiness.
- People who lose their temper easily should consider personal service of office clusters as a career.
Career
- Every job requires some training.
- A student should be getting ready for one job.
- A person must possess some ability for the work he/she has chosen.
Economic
- On an assembly line everyone must do his or her job before the product can be completed.
- A worker’s salary supports many other people besides his or her own family.
- There are other ways of being paid for a job besides being paid money.
Skill
- Some kind of tool is necessary for every job.
- The more complicated a machine is the better the job it does.
- Hammers and blueprints are tools necessary for some jobs.
Employability
- It’s okay if I’m grumpy as long as I do a good job.
- I feel better when someone recognizes when I’ve done a good job.
- A person should feel good enough about his or her work to share the results of the work.
