New Teaching Talent - Deanne Pearson

Deanne Pearson

Deanne Pearson is no stranger to the Kenai Peninsula. She grew up in Washington and moved to Alaska in 1977 when her dad was transferred to Soldotna. Other than attending college, she’s been here since.

Deanne has a bachelor’s degree in elementary and secondary math education from Washington State University, and a master’s in teaching degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Alaska.

She taught mathematics at a variety of schools and grade levels, including middle school, high school and college, at Soldotna High School and Skyview High School. Starting in fall 2010 she’s been teaching middle-school through secondary math at River City Academy.

“I like the challenge of the different grade levels,” Deanne said.
