Hospital Career Day

Dear KPBSD high school students,

Can you imagine a future for yourself in the medical field? Yes? Maybe? Read on…

You’re invited to a once a year opportunity to attend a career day on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, from 10:00-1:30 p.m. at Central Peninsula Hospital!

You can learn about careers in Therapeutic (Nurse, Counselor, etc.), Medical Information (Billing, Coding …), Diagnostic (Radiologist, Imaging ...), and Environmental (Chef, Electrician ...) fields.

During the 2013 Hospital Career Day, Katy Knackstedt, a junior from Kenai Central High School said, “The career fair had all the jobs in a hospital, from the environmental aspects, to the computer and technology, and of course the doctors and nurses. It helped broaden my horizons to what place in a hospital would fit best for my skills and interests.”

You’ll hear stories from hospital employees who will share their passion and commitment to their jobs and give you valuable tips on how to prepare for careers in a hospital setting.

Last year, students shared, “I had no idea there were so many jobs in a hospital!” “The speakers and information packets provided were really helpful. I will use the information to help me plan my career.” “I’m inspired to volunteer and get involved in their community, concentrate on math and science and graduate.”

To sign up for the 2014 Hospital Career Day or learn more, please talk to the counselor at your high school. Lunch is provided and the event is sponsored by the KPBSD Career Technical Education department and Central Peninsula Hospital. All KPBSD students can attend.

Sincerely,

Your potential future career
