    “Skyview Middle School is the first school in Alaska to be designated with national Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) recognition,” said Natalie Kant, Skyview Middle School counselor. This year 104 schools from 27 states will receive this designation."

    The weather cooperated with the 4th Annual Kenai River Spring Cleanup, students scoured the river and campgrounds, and logged in a total of 3,055 pounds of debris and trash. And that’s a lot considering how light fishing line is!

    “This is a bittersweet time of year with our staff. It is a time to celebrate the successes and growth we've all experienced throughout the district. It is also a time for transition. We are losing some excellent educators and support staff, and while it is sad they are leaving the district, it is also a time to be thankful for their contributions and also wish them well on their next adventure.     Over 270 students participated in the 7th annual Kenai Peninsula College Fair, October 18, 2016, held at the Soldotna High School gymnasium. Representatives from 50+ colleges, vocational and technical education schools, and dozens of counselors and staff made a commitment to providing KPBSD students with an opportunity that many may not otherwise have, and time to discuss education, career paths, and financial aid. Students and parents learned more about loans, state, and federal financial aid programs at the Financial Aid booth.
